Made by Doutanuki Fujiwara Masakuni, a swordsmith from Higo, Kyushu. The sword is made with almost no decorative elements, and you can see the maker's commitment to practicality. Doutanuki's prowess was also demonstrated at the Meiji Emperor's helmet-breaking ceremony.
He is truly simple, sturdy, and strong.
