She was initially hired as an assassin by the Runorata family, but was opposed to them and eventually pledged her loyalty to the Gandor Family. Despite her womanly looks, she's still very childish in nature. Maria fights using two samurai swords named "Murasamia" and "Kochite" which were passed down from her grandfather.
