Najin is the main protagonists's brother in The Ember Knight. After rescuing civilians from a fire that burned through their hometown he became a Knight's Apprentice. Soon after his immense talent became well-known and he became considered the strongest candidate. He is killed in a conflict with a mysterious masked group.
