Fire Mage is the pupil of the previous Phoenix Wizard. Fire Mage only learned one spell, which makes her immune to fire, because her master drunk himself to death during her training. She makes a living as a circus performer and does not think of herself as a wizard.

It is revealed that her teacher, Phoenix Wizard, actually died fighting against other sorcerers trying to use the Long, Black, Shadowy Memoir for evil, and not from alcoholism.
