Forced by her grandmother into an arraged marriage with Eiser, she resents her husband and is insecure about him taking over her family business, the Serenity Hotel. Serena cherishes the Hotel greatly. She has a toxic, co-dependent love affair with Frederick. She is of fragile health, has insomnia and a sleeping disorder.
