She is the sister of Shuragami's best friend who asked him to look after her. The sole survivor of a massacre of women by the samurai Masaomi Kuramoto during the Boshin War, she resurfaced later as the geisha and assassin Hinazuru to take revenge on the Meiji government for its autrocities during the Boshin War.
