Tomohiro Machiya

Tomohiro Machiya is the main protagonist of Dead Tube. He is a second-year student at Gyotoku Academy and a member of the school's Film Research Club, where he serves as cameraman.

He is recruited by Mai Mashiro to film gore and extreme content, turning them into a well-known duo on the deadly platform known as Dead Tube. On the surface, Tomohiro comes across as a calm and fairly ordinary guy, but beneath that he harbors a fascination with abnormal things like gore, depravity, and extreme situations. Despite this, he takes his role as a cameraman with complete seriousness, treating it almost as a craft.

At the start of the story, Tomohiro maintains the appearance of a relatively normal student. However, after the murder of his sister Kana, his personality shifts drastically. He becomes cold, twisted, and deeply calculating, driven no longer by fascination but by a singular obsession: destroying Dead Tube itself and everything connected to it. The loss of Kana marks the turning point that transforms him from a passive participant into one of the most dangerous players in the game.
