Ji Yao is first mentioned as the missing 3rd Elder of Star Boundary's Ice Heart Valley. Having been missing for 3,000 years, she is eventually found by Yang Kai in the Ancient Wild Lands of the Eastern Territory while in a delirious state. After being safely returned to Ice Heart Valley and regaining her senses, Ji Yao quickly falls in love with an eventually reciprocating Yang Kai.
